This is our story...
(According to her...)
Josh and I met during the second semester of my freshman year in college. I was always very motivated by school and athletics, and was not interested in starting a relationship with anyone. My friends and older sister, however, had other plans...they met Josh before I did and constantly pressed me to give him a chance. I had not yet met him, but everyone said he was just great.
We finally met, and eventually exchanged numbers and over time became friends. We chatted for the next year or so, and I learned more about Josh each day.
Me and my stubborn self still resisted the whole "boyfriend" thing.
Finally, 2 years later, I opened up fully to the idea of dating Mr. Shields and have been with him since. That is quite awhile to wait around for a girl to make up her mind, but I am so glad he did. I am not the easiest person to deal with, that I know.
We dated for about a year and a half before he asked me to marry him April 18, 2014.
I have quirks and flaws like the best of them, but Josh doesn't seem to mind too much. He is my best friend, and I can't wait to spend my life with him.

I first met Kelsie in my first
semester at Mobile in 2010. I didn’t know her name at the time, but she had a
class after mine that was in the same building. I would always pass her on the
steps on my way out of the building as she was coming in. She would always give
me the biggest warmest smile and I would always smile back.
We always saw each other around, but we
didn’t official
meet until toward the end of the semester when we both ended up coming
to play
at one of the indoor soccer sessions that the girls and boys teams play
in the
spring. Kelsie and I were on opposing teams. Our teams played each other
and I got the ball when she was in my area. I tried a fancy move on her
but she wasn’t
having it, and she took me out. We joked about the incident, which
wasn’t that
serious, and we ending up becoming friends. We remained friends for a
while, and
over time as we got to know each other better. We began hanging out more
and
more, and after realizing how much we enjoyed each others company we
began dating. It took her awhile to make things "facebook official", but once we did, there was no turning back. About
two years after our very first date, I asked her to spend the rest of her
life
with me...and she said yes. Kelsie has been a blessing in my life, and an
amazing
friend that has been there to support me since we first became good
friends. I’m
looking forward to taking this next step in October and starting our
lives
together.
